UPDATE : We have completed our trip to Mussoorie. See Places to visit in Mussoorie, our eventful journey.

As you guys know that our next trip is Delhi to Mussoorie on 6th of August (Tommorow), so here I come with my plan and preparation to visit Mussoorie in monsoon. News Channels are broadcasting that Mussoorie, in Uttarakhand is receiving heavy rainfall and many areas are blocked, due to landslide and water logging. Well I am not at all in the mood to cancel this trip. Many of my friends and family members are warning us to not take this trip, as the roads of Delhi to Mussoorie have become dangerous. My only excuse is that I am not going to Mussoorie by bus and I have opted for train route.

# How to reach Delhi to Mussoorie

I had three options in hand to reach Mussoorie, and those were by flight, train and road. I avoided by road because this monsoon season is prone to accidents, too many pot holes and slippery surfaces are there. I could have taken flight to Dehradun, but the distance between Delhi to Mussoorie is too short to opt for flight and afterall I am budget traveler. My last option was train, and it was just perfect for me to combat monsoon. I have given below all the possible methods of going to Delhi to Mussoorie in details.

# Delhi to Mussoorie by Bus

Regular bus service is available from Delhi to Mussoorie, you may also opt to take bus for Dehradun, the state capital of Uttarakhand and from there you may easily visit Mussoorie.

# Delhi to Mussoorie by Air

Nearest Airport from Mussoorie is located in Dehradun (Jolly Grant Airport). It is about 60 kilometers from Mussoorie.

# Delhi to Mussoorie by Train

Mussoorie is accessible by train, nearest railway station is in Dehradun, which is connected from all the major cities of India.

Coming back to the topic!! Yes, I cancelled my bus, and now booked seats in a train (Nanda devi express) as the trains are safe during monsoon in India, ofcourse it is comfortable than bus as well, in train, you can walk and respond to nature’s call quite easily. We will be boarding Nanda devi express from New Delhi, tomorrow at 10: 30 PM, The booking is upto Dehradun. Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand is located  34Kms from Mussoorie and Bus and Private Cabs are easily available from here.
